Blue Collar Records is pleased to announce the June 17th release of Blow Your Mind, the debut EP from urban alt rock anomaly, Gorilla Apocalypse. On Blow Your Mind, singer-songwriter IZ.M.B joins forces with beat producer Grizz La Flare and lyricist Gary “GB” Bernard to create a vibey cocktail of sound that’s both perfect for the dance floor as well as enjoying by the pool. This tall glass of chilled grooves makes the most of La Flare’s catchy beats by pairing them with sophisticated lyrics beautifully arranged and delivered by IZ.M.B. The result is an EP equal parts passion, irony and fun. From its opening track and lead single, “Tornado”, to its happy ending, “Love Lives On”, Blow Your Mind delivers seven exciting songs about love, relationships, and independence, or as Sergio Leone might have called it – Love: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The album was recorded at Milkboy The Studio in Philadelphia, PA over the first three months of 2022. Additional production and arrangements were provided by Justin Miller, who recently won a grammy for his engineering on Jazmine Sullivan’s first extended play album, Heaux Tales, and Miles Keller, who also contributes vocally on the seventh and final track, “Love Lives On”.

Not Guilty by IZ.M.B Makes A Statement
This is a song about social injustices in the United States. It discusses topics of discrimination within the law and how minorities are often treated unfairly. It also shines a light upon racial profiling and how there needs to be a change in how the law is enforced.
The Judge swings his gavel The less fortunate drop to their knees and grovel It's a matter of survival When you're not guilty but lack the ability To mount a proper defense Oh, God what a mess When the jury's indifference ain't giving you confidence And if I had to guess I'd prefer to say After your day- in court you're going down Were always going down As soon as you heard the sirens coming round from behind you When the black and white rolled up behind you with flashing lights And now it's a losing fight that started with profiling And continues when his honor dials up a 5-10 And it ends with them pile driving you Along with the truth, though, it seems silly When you're not guilty When you're not guilty When you're not guilty How do I face you When all I see Behind your eyes Is the belief that I'm telling lies And now I'm behind the bars Because I couldn't afford A superstar Who raises the bar Just a public defender Oh, God I surrender, even thou Even thou Even thou I'm not guilty I'm not guilty And now we're behind bars and we've got the scars That multiply when society lacks responsibility And oh God, I hate to make fuse, but it's a Bitter pill for everyone of us, When we've got 5-10 to kill, even though, everybody But the jury knows and I guess that's how it goes Even when You're not guilty Even when You're not guilty And now, you feel like a vote without a voice When a traffic stop leads to a knee on your throat And oh, how you want to shout out Complain that you are choking out, And you really kind of doubt Even if they could hear you That they'd believe you The words that you are spitting out I'm not guilty I'm not guilty
